Privacy

What we collect, what we do not, and what you can do about it.

Plain-language privacy policy for the QuickLoops Pro website and apps. Effective April 21, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Clevedon Road R&D Limited (the operator of QuickLoops Pro, "we", "us", "our") handles personal information when you use the QuickLoops Pro website at quickloopspro.com and the QuickLoops Pro applications for iOS and macOS.

We have written this policy in plain language. We do not collect anything we do not need.

Snapshot

  • The QuickLoops Pro iOS and macOS apps are fully on-device. They do not send your audio, MIDI mappings, profiles, or usage data to us or to any third party. No accounts. No cloud sync. No analytics SDKs.
  • The website does not load non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. We will only enable analytics after launch, and only with a working consent banner.
  • The only personal information we collect on the website is the email address you submit — to the iOS waitlist or to the macOS update list — and only if you submit it.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information. Ever.

Who we are

Clevedon Road R&D Limited, operator of QuickLoops Pro, registered office: 6 Target Court, Wairau Valley, Auckland 0627, New Zealand, is the data controller responsible for personal information collected through this website and (where applicable) the QuickLoops Pro apps.

Contact: support@quickloopspro.com

For privacy-specific questions, you can reach us at the same address with the subject line "Privacy".

What the apps collect

The QuickLoops Pro iOS and macOS applications are designed to run entirely on your device. Specifically:

  • We do not require an account or sign-in.
  • We do not upload your recorded audio, loops, or microphone input.
  • We do not upload your MIDI mappings, Settings Profiles, or device hints.
  • We do not ship a third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.
  • We do not include third-party crash-reporting services.

Settings Profiles, MIDI Learn mappings, FX state, audio routing, and any audio you record in the app are stored locally on the device that created them. If you delete the app or wipe its data, that information is removed with it.

On Apple platforms, basic operational metrics such as crash logs may still be visible to us only if you opt in to share them with developers via your device's Apple privacy settings. We do not receive anything outside of that Apple-mediated, opt-in channel.

What the website collects

Email addresses you submit

The website has two opt-in email forms:

  • iOS waitlist — captures the email you provide so we can send you the App Store link when QuickLoops Pro for iOS goes live.
  • macOS update list — captures the email you provide so we can send you the latest macOS DMG link when a new build ships.

Both forms are strictly opt-in. We do not pre-fill, infer, or import email addresses from anywhere else. Each form has a hidden anti-spam field; if a bot fills it, we discard the submission.

Local storage in your browser

After you successfully submit one of the email forms, we store a small flag in your browser's local storage so the success state persists if you reload the page. The keys we use are:

  • quickloops:ios-waitlist:submitted
  • quickloops:macos-download:submitted

These are first-party, stored only by your browser, and contain only the value true. You can clear them at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

Server logs

Our hosting infrastructure records standard request metadata when you visit the site or download a file: timestamp, IP address, user agent, referrer, and the URL requested. We use these logs only for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational diagnostics. Logs are retained for no longer than 90 days unless we need them to investigate a specific security incident.

Analytics and cookies

At the time of writing, the QuickLoops Pro website does not load third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only client-side storage we use is the first-party local-storage keys listed above.

We may enable privacy-respecting analytics (for example, Google Analytics 4 or Cloudflare Web Analytics) after launch to understand how the site is used. If we do, we will:

  • update this policy with the specific services and what they collect,
  • add a cookie consent banner so you can accept or decline before any non-essential cookie or storage is set, and
  • continue to honor "Do Not Track" / "Global Privacy Control" signals where supported.

How we use the information we collect

  • To send you the iOS App Store link when the app goes live (waitlist).
  • To send you the latest macOS DMG link when a new build ships (macOS update list).
  • To respond to your support and privacy emails.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website and the apps.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or for any purpose other than the ones listed above.

Legal bases for processing (EU / UK visitors)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — when you submit your email to the waitlist or update list.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for basic server logs used to keep the site available and secure, and to prevent abuse. Our interests are balanced against your privacy rights, and you can object at any time.
  • Compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) — when we need to retain records to meet a legal requirement.

Personal information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside the EEA / UK, including New Zealand and the United States. New Zealand has been formally recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where data is processed in countries without an adequacy decision, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you,
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information,
  • have your information deleted,
  • restrict or object to certain processing,
  • receive a copy of your information in a portable format,
  • withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal), and
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — for example, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the data protection authority in your EU member state.

If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)

We collect the categories of personal information described in this policy (an email address you choose to submit, plus standard internet activity such as IP address and browser metadata in server logs).

  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • You have the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to limit use of any sensitive personal information.
  • You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
  • You can authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@quickloopspro.com with the subject line "CCPA request".

If you are in New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020)

You have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you under the Information Privacy Principles. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we have not handled your information correctly.

If you are in Australia (Privacy Act 1988)

You have rights to access and correct your personal information. You can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you believe we have not handled your information correctly.

How to exercise your rights

Email support@quickloopspro.com from the address you originally submitted, with a clear description of what you want us to do. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Marketing emails

Submitting your email to the iOS waitlist or the macOS update list is the only way we add you to our outbound email. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link and the sender's physical mailing address. You can unsubscribe at any time, and unsubscribing does not prevent you from continuing to use the website or the apps.

Data retention

  • iOS waitlist email addresses — retained until 12 months after the iOS App Store launch, or until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever comes first.
  • macOS update list email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Server logs — retained for up to 90 days, unless required for a specific security investigation.
  • Support correspondence — retained for up to 24 months so we can follow up on related questions.

After the relevant retention period, the information is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

Service providers we use

We share personal information only with the service providers we genuinely need to operate the site and handle the emails you ask us to send:

  • Hosting provider — serves the website and processes basic request logs.
  • QuickLoops Pro support inbox — opt-in form submissions are routed to support@quickloopspro.com so we can manage iOS waitlist and macOS update notifications.

These providers process information only on our instructions, under written contracts that require appropriate confidentiality and security. If we add a dedicated email marketing or delivery platform later, we will name it here before using it for new opt-ins.

Apple App Store

When QuickLoops Pro for iOS is available on the App Store, Apple will collect information as part of providing the App Store service (for example, account, purchase, and download information). That collection is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not by us.

Our App Privacy disclosures in App Store Connect will reflect the same on-device-only position described in this policy. If anything ever changes — for example, if we add an opt-in cloud feature — we will update both Apple's labels and this policy before the change ships.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), restricted administrative access, and least-privilege access controls. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we treat the email addresses you trust us with seriously.

If we ever experience a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority and (where required) affected individuals as required by law.

Children

QuickLoops Pro is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please email support@quickloopspro.com and we will delete it.

Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top, and — if the changes are material — we will surface a notice on the site.
